नेशनल मीडिया की चकाचौंध में रहना कभी-कभी हमारे भीतर एक अहम और अभिमान को जन्म दे देता है। लगता है कि हम मुख्यमंत्री से लेकर प्रधानमंत्री और एक सिपाही से लेकर अधिकारी तक — किसी के भी पास जा सकते हैं, अपनी बात कह सकते हैं। ऐसा अहसास होता है जैसे हम सब कुछ कर सकते हैं। धीरे-धीरे यही अभिमान हमें हमारी असली जिम्मेदारियों से दूर कर देता है।

और यही भूल हम अक्सर कर बैठते हैं। जब तक जीवन एक कड़वे अनुभव की दस्तक नहीं देता। मेरे लिए यह चेतावनी का समय कोरोना काल था। जब दूसरी लहर में मैं खुद भी संक्रमित हो गया। छह दिन तक सिर्फ छत और पंखा देखता रहा। जब इस महामारी से बचकर बाहर निकला और देश की हालत देखी — एक ही दिन में 28,000 नए मरीज, श्मशानों में सामूहिक दाह संस्कार — तो ऐसा लगा मानो दूसरा जन्म मिला है।

मन में ठान लिया कि अब जीवन सिर्फ अपने लिए नहीं, बल्कि पीड़ित मानवता के लिए जिया जाएगा। उसी भावना से वर्ल्ड ह्यूमन राइट्स ऑर्गेनाइजेशन और आलंबन चैरिटेबल ट्रस्ट को नई ऊर्जा दी।

आज भी उसी सेवा-भावना के साथ लगातार जनकल्याण के लिए काम कर रहे हैं। और अब ये विश्वास पक्का हो गया है —

यदि मनुष्य के हृदय में मानवता हो, दुखी जनों के प्रति करुणा हो, और ज़रूरतमंदों की मदद करने का हाथ उठे, तो न केवल जीवन सुखमय होता है, बल्कि मोक्ष का मार्ग भी सरल बनता है।

आज तक दिव्यांग जनों को व्हीलचेयर वितरण, बच्चों को स्कूल बैग्स, ज़रूरतमंदों को भोजन, और विभिन्न सेवा कार्यों के कार्यक्रम कर चुके हैं। संगठन को विश्व स्तर तक पहुँचा दिया है। WHRO आज 17 देशों और 25 राज्यों में सक्रिय है।

Living in the limelight of national media sometimes unknowingly breeds an ego within us. It makes us feel that we can meet anyone — from a Prime Minister to a constable — walk into any officer’s chamber, and speak our mind. Gradually, this inflated sense of self distracts us from our real purpose, our true duty towards humanity.

And we often realize this only when life knocks us down unexpectedly. For me, this moment came during the deadly second wave of COVID-19. I, too, was infected and spent six long days staring at nothing but the ceiling and a fan. When I recovered and looked around, I saw the country reeling — 28,000 cases a day, mass cremations — it felt like I had been given a second life.

That moment changed everything. I resolved that from then on, my life would be dedicated to the service of suffering humanity. With that spirit, I breathed new life into the World Human Rights Organization and Aalamban Charitable Trust.

Today, with the same unwavering spirit of service, we continue to work for the welfare of society. And now I firmly believe —

When the heart beats for humanity, when there’s compassion for the distressed and hands rise to help the needy, not only does life become meaningful, but the path to salvation also becomes easier.

We have organized several service programs — distributing wheelchairs to the differently-abled, school bags to children, providing meals to the hungry, and more. Today, WHRO has expanded its reach across 17 countries and 25 states.
