The Industry
Madhya Pradesh houses one of the leading Auto cluster of India at Pithampur near Indore, and Mandideep near Bhopal. There are more than 30 Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and 200 Auto Component manufacturers present in the State and employ a workforce of 200,000 technical professionals.
The State offers world class infrastructure including industrial parks, ICDs, industrial corridors and premier testing facilities like Central Farm Machinery Training & Testing Institute at Budhni and NATRAX at Pithampur. Leading skill development institutes such as Indo-German Tool Room, Symbiosis Skill University and MSME technology Centre are also present amongst other technical training institutes.
Pithampur
Madhya Pradesh’s Pithampur area, houses Pithampur auto cluster which is an emerging auto hub of central India which is spread across a total area of nearly 2,000 hectares and provides excellent industrial infrastructural facilities. The auto cluster houses over 120 large and 450 MSME units with combined investment of approx. INR 85416.7 Crores employing 200,000 technical professionals annually providing abundant skilled workforce for the automobile industry. The auto cluster has an investment of INR 97,500 Crores and exports goods worth INR 1500 Crores
The key manufacturing units in auto cluster are: VE Commercial Vehicle, John Deere, Mahindra Two wheelers, Force Motors, etc and key OEMs/ Auto Ancillaries units in auto cluster are: Bridgestone, JK Tyres, CAPARO India, Liugong, Mahle Engine Component India, Pinnacle Industries, Jay Bharat Maruti (JBM), Jaya hind montupe, Jamna auto, etc
Pithampur also houses Asia’s largest testing track “National Automobile Test Track” (NATRAX), a state-of-the-art automotive testing and certification centre under NATRiP, a flasgship project of the Ministry of Heavy Industries, Government of India.NATRAX is spread across an area of 1200 Ha with 11.3 km of test track with as investment of USD 200 Mn where it has 14 types of test track including Vehicle Dynamics, fatigue and NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) testing facilities.

Indore a fast-growing metropolitan is the commercial hub of central India with rich history and traditional industrial base. Indore is one of the smart cities and a front runner in the cleanliness ranking in the country for the 5th year in a row by Swachh Sruvekshan 2021.The city is an upcoming logistic hub with proposed Multi-Modal Logistics Park and its proximity to the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor exit node near Ratlam.
There are many famous places in and around Indore like Rajwada, Chhatris, Lal Bagh Palace, Mahatma Gandhi Hall, Maheshwar, Mandu, Bagh caves, Jhabua, Dhar etc attracting tourist from across the globe. The city is also a foodie delight with “Sarafa” and “Chappan” being the major food markets in the city.
It is also an education hub of the state with premier institutes like Indian Institute of Management, Indian Institute of Technology, Institute of Technology and Science, Raja Raman Centre for Advanced Technology, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Central School of Weapons and Tactics and others ensuring availability of skilled professionals.
The city is strategically poised on the western side of the state with excellent road, rail, and air connectivity to almost all major cities. It is served by the Devi Ahilyabai Holkar International Airport which is about 8km from the city and is part of the Ratlam division of the Western Railways. It is also well connected through road with 3 major National Highways and 3 major State Highway connecting the city across the country
